Southern Cross University is powered by passion. The University is home to a thriving, interdisciplinary teaching and research community with expertise across all STEM subjects and in teacher education. Of particular note are two education research clusters based within the Faculty of Education – the Sustainability, Environment and the Arts in Education (SEAE) Research Cluster and the TeachLab Research Group that leads research in school improvement, school leadership, educational technology, teacher professional development and initial teacher education.
Southern Cross University was founded in northern New South Wales in 1994. Southern Cross is ranked in the ‘Top 200 Young Universities in the World’ by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2020. In the latest Excellence in Research for Australia report, the University achieved outstanding ratings of ‘at world standard’ or above in 23 research fields. Regional campuses at the Gold Coast (Qld), Lismore and Coffs Harbour (both NSW) are supported by metropolitan campuses in Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane and Perth.
