Synopsis:

Jaq will discuss her work connecting women and girls in STEM across Australia, the importance (and availability!) of real STEM role models for classrooms and the challenges facing women and girls in STEM across Asia Pacific.

Bio:

Neuroscientist, Superstar of STEM, TechGirls Champion and Asia Pacific Chair of the Association for Computing Machinery – Women in Computing.

 Jaq is a passionate advocate for women and girls in STEM.  Over her career she has focussed on deafness, cancer bioscience and robotics through the academic, industry and not for profit sectors as a researcher, author, and teacher.  Jaq will discuss her work presenting free STEM entrepreneurship workshops to girls across Australia, the importance (and availability!) of real STEM role models for classrooms and the challenges facing women and girls in STEM across Asia Pacific.
