Workshop: Implementing STEM in your rural/regional school

Video Synopsis:

Our team has produced a 20 min workshop targeting Rural and Regional schools – we give teachers concrete ideas on how to implement STEM programs in smaller rural schools. We give a brief background to the Crookwell Academy of STEM as a pilot SISP Academy – the mechanics of making STEM part of the school priority; STEM classes in action; the initiatives that have been very successful such as HOOK DAYs, the Year 8 Mentor Program; SHOWCASE Days; the crucial role of our Industry Partners – both relating to in school visits and on site excursions; the benefit of having an SPO; expansion of the program to three other areas within the Southern Inland Region and the value the Lending Library as a way of sharing resources amongst our some 40 schools over a large geographical area.
