Girls in STEM Toolkit (GiST)
Case Study Video: Improving secondary science participation: a case study
(On Demand videos launching Monday 19 April 2021)
In this presentation, you will hear how one school has increased participation in senior science subjects. The Head of science will relay how she led her team to redesign their middle and senior school curricula using some of the principles outlined on the Girls in STEM Toolkit, a free resource funded by the Australian Government and developed by Education Services Australia. You will hear about extracurricular activities that have contributed to greater student interest in STEM and from a student whose interest in STEM has changed and now studies Year 12 physics.
Presenters for this session are Adele Hudson, Head of Science, Aitken College and Abigail, a Year 12 student.
